The power of positivity

“My friends, if I have learned anything throughout this process it is that life is meant to be lived - not when there is a deadline but while you have the chance to unabashedly light up the universe with grace and laughter. When life deals you a tough hand, take back the power by manifesting positive energy.”

These are words that appeared on my news feed (on LinkedIn actually) and were shared by someone I once worked with who has recently faced a pretty major life trauma.

Not only is this beautifully written, the message really struck me.

I think mindset and energy are vitally important, no matter what your circumstances, or the hurdles that life throws your way.

A difficult situation - a card that life has dealt us - can cause us to feel hurt, alienated, upset, angry. All of these emotions are justified and shouldn’t be stifled or hidden. They are valid feelings. But only for a short time. If we hold on to these feelings, they often do not serve us well.

These words reminded me of the power of positive energy. Life is meant to be lived. No matter what darkness is thrown your way, combat it with light and give it less power.

I have often say to Martyn that Arlo needs us to surround him with the most positive energy ever - because I have always believed that he will soak it up and be ready for any fight he faces.

I always joke that if the world was ending and we were told there was nothing we could do, I would be one of those people looking for the unlikely ray of hope. A chance. I am always looking for the positive or good things amongst the sh**.

Of course we feel down sometimes (because we are human) and we must allow ourselves to feel the negatives. (I tell Martyn that I am allowed to sit in the sadness today but if I am still sat in it tomorrow then he can give me a slap!)

We shouldn’t underestimate the power of laughter, humour, love, happiness, forgiveness, and positivity. It is as healing as medicine and we can manifest unbelievable or unlikely outcomes.
