At the end of the day, itās all about feeding your baby and your baby maintaining a healthy weight, whatever that looks like. š
But I feel eternally grateful that I could do this for Arlo. š
As with most feeding journeys, it wasnāt without its hardships and crazy moments, but looking back at these photos makes me feel blessed and proud. š„°
So much happened in those 13 monthsā¦
Collecting as much colostrum as I could whilst on the ward after Arlo made his early appearance at 36 weeks.
Getting the creon in him at 2am - grappling with that stupid tiny spoon, a pack of apple purĆ©e, and hands that were shaking due to Arloās hungry cries in the background.
Feeding at home.
Feeding on the go (one of these photos was taken in the middle of a tourist attraction in Brighton š).
Pumping so Martyn could do a feed and help me get more sleep!
Just a few highlights that show how varied our journey was. For about 2 months I gave up on pumping (dairy cow vibes got to me šš) so the one bottle a day that Martyn gave Arlo was formula rather than breast milk. You gotta do what works for your family! š
But I wouldnāt change a thing - including the blood, sweat, tears - and spilt milk! (Anyone who said thereās no need to cry over spilt milk had clearly not just pumped it from their boobs! š¤£š¤£š¤£)
The female body can do incredible things. š
