I can’t pretend that it’s solely due to Arlo’s CF that we haven’t gone on an international holiday until now, because that wouldn’t be totally truthful. We’ve wanted to go abroad for so long but either thanks to covid, or just life getting in the way, last week was our first time leaving the UK and travelling on a plane.
But I am being truthful if I say that I was pretty nervous about how things might play out - how we’d pack everything, whether we’d remember everything, how we’d manage meds on the go, whether meds that needed to be kept refrigerated would stay cold on the long journey from our front door to the Airbnb the other side, how we’d pack our neb machine (which is about as portable as a bloody microwave!😆) - plus all the other ‘toddler stuff’ that comes with these little people!
The reality of it was actually so much better than I had expected. We made it - and it was totally worth it! ☀️
Sometimes the best way to learn is to go beyond your limits and your comfort zone.
And often I find the lesson is actually that you can do it and it’s not as scary or impossible as you thought.
I wouldn’t say it was easy (getting through security with Spanish security who spoke next to no English and didn’t understand the letter from Arlo’s paediatrician was an interesting moment 😅) but it’s definitely worth it. Just swipe to see a moment when I realised it's never too much trouble.
And now I feel like the world is our oyster! 🌎
The first trip of many my little man! 💙
(If you are flying soon and want any tips then I’m happy to share the learnings and successes. 🙏)
